Football news - Manchester City could face UEFA sanctions over alleged financial doping

Pep Guardiola has denied Manchester City's success is down to spending more money than anyone else and claimed it is "completely wrong" to argue their achievements have been tarnished by fresh allegations the club have broken Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.

City have not responded in detail to the claims made by Der Spiegel, referring only to a statement that attempts to discredit the club are "organised and clear".

More damaging allegations about financial impropriety have emerged from Germany's Der Spiegel news magazine, this time pointing the finger squarely at Manchester City in the first of a four-part instalment about the club's activities. "What I can say personally on the club, of course I trust the club what they have done".

In August Man City celebrated the 10th anniversary since Sheikh Mansour, a member of Abu Dhabi's ruling family, took control of the club, pouring billions into player budgets and infrastructure to turn the perennial Premier League strugglers into champions.

'Believe me, I'm completely honest.

"About the business and how we handle this situation, I'm completely out of that". I'm part of the club, I support the club. And we want to do what we have to do in terms of the rules.

"In terms of undermining what we have done or not, opinions are free in those terms". If we win we are good and accept it, if we lose we accept it's not what we are able to to win. We focus on what we have to do on the pitch'.

Asus ZenFone 6 leak shows the most peculiar notch we've ever seen
Is this a trend you'd like to see more of? However, the battery meter sits in the small corner between the notch and the bezel. A bunch of leaked photos on an Italian blog site HDBlog .it shows a prototype ASUS smartphone claimed to be the Zenfone 6.

Guardiola - a serial victor at Barcelona and Bayern Munich prior to arriving in the Premier League two summers ago - suggested that the club as long grown used to being criticised for spending heavily.

Etihad Airways said in a statement: "The airline's financial obligations, associated with the partnership of the club and the broader City Football Group, have always been, and remain, the sole liability and responsibility of Etihad Airways".

City allegedly also had to make up losses of £9.9m in 2012/13 to meet FFP regulations due to terminating manager Roberto Mancini's contract. "That's why I will always defend, especially, my players and what they do".

'That is the issue always here, because to pass to stay in one level and achieve another level you need a lot of time, and of course money. We have to live with it. The leaks validate what we have been saying for more than a year.

"But they're an incredible club, people working here, how professional they are with all the departments".

"If the people say it is just about money?" "We believe we work a lot, not just the manager, but the staff, players". We can not achieve what we've achieved. It's an incredibly professional club, they try to do the good things in the right why. Without good players we can not do that.
