Microsoft snaps chat with XOXCO purchase

Microsoft and XOXCO have teamed up together in the past, and the company also built Botkit, which provides developer tools to users on GitHub. But companies also need to be careful with automated conversations, as the survey also found that while 43% of global consumers have engaged with a chatbot when contacting an organization in the past year, only 38% said their query had been completely resolved.

XOXCO had begun as a consulting services and software product design firm before making a successful pivot into chatbots. It creates cutting-edge experiences through software.

The companies did not reveal the acquisition price, but the purchase fits with Microsoft's acquisition strategy this year, seemingly preferring to purchase instead of building their own tech.

It is being used in creation of virtual assistants, redesigning of customer interactions and using conversational assistants to help employees in communicating better.

Ross Taylor has dished out some good performances and would be expected to continue that in the longest format as well. Kane Williamson, Jeet Raval and Neil Wagner are considerable options from New Zealand for multipliers.

Microsoft is acquiring this development studio because of its conversational AI and bot development capabilities.

"We envision a world where natural language becomes the new user interface, enabling people to do more with what they say, type and input, understanding preferences and tasks and modelling experiences based on the way people think and remember". Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it's another step further in the Redmond giant's growing effort to integrate conversational AI into how people communicate.

Lili Cheng - Corporate Vice President, Conversational AI, explained in a blog post, "We have shared goals to foster a community of startups and innovators, share best practices and continue to amplify our focus on conversational AI, as well as to develop tools for empowering people to create experiences that do more with speech and language". Conversational bots offer the natural interface for digital content and services and Microsoft's Bot Framework has been an integral platform for industry growth. The acquisition of Semantic Machines in May brought a revolutionary new approach to conversational AI. Then in September, the company acquired Lobe and recently in October it acquired GitHub in one of the most significant acquisitions of the year.
