Migrant woman hurt after being impaled while trying to climb over border

According to US Border Patrol, the 26-year-old woman from Guatemala was with her two children, aged three and five, when she climbed the fence near the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports she was in an area that is under construction as crews work to replace decades-old fencing. When she fell, rebar pierced the side of her body.

Her punctures were not life-threatening and she was taken to a USA hospital. After they were evaluated for trauma, they were turned back over to the custody of the Border Patrol. We will update this story with details as they become available. "This woman placed her own life and her children's lives in peril". The rebar was part of ongoing border wall construction and had nothing to do with military troops strengthening the wall row upon row of concertina wire in response to the Central American caravan. "She could have easily died if not for the quick response by our agents and EMS".

More than 100 injured in Aleppo in terrorist gas attack
State TV interviewed doctors in a hospital who said most people were suffering from breathing problems and blurred vision. The shelling killed eight, including six children, according to the civil defense team in the opposition-held area.

It was unclear if she planned to claim asylum; the woman told agents she was not part of the migrant caravan that began arriving in Tijuana almost two weeks ago, according to Border Patrol Agent Eduardo Olmos.

The closures come as around 500 migrants overwhelmed federal and local Mexican police blockades and rushed toward the U.S. border near Tijuana, Mexico.

A verified video, which has emerged online, show migrant caravan breaking through the fence and into the US.
