The show that kicked off Marvel and Netflix's ambitious series of interconnected superhero shows has come to an untimely end.

The hits just keep coming for the various Defenders series. According to a report by Deadline, Daredevil's remaining seasons will be streamed on Disney's own, soon-to-launch streaming service.

For those wondering about the future of the existing three seasons of Daredevil, you need not worry as Netflix told Deadline that the first three seasons of the show will remain on the streaming site for posterity.

With Daredevil's cancellation, Netflix now has just two Marvel shows that continue production: Jessica Jones and The Punisher.

While the third season, which landed on Netflix last month, has been met with much more acclaim, it was seemingly not enough to save the Devil of Hell's Kitchen from the service's chopping block. Then, Netflix canceled Luke Cage.

Then there was the much-hyped crossover between all four Netflix/Marvel shows - The Defenders - released previous year, to well, less than stellar reactions.

'We are tremendously proud of the show's last and final season and although it's painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note'.

Netflix has announced the cancelation of its Daredevil series after three seasons, ending what was once the cornerstone element of its Marvel universe.

Netflix's original content purge has struck again, taking down another Marvel title in the process.

Another Marvel series has been removed from Netflix's dwindling roster.

Netflix thanked showrunner Erik Oleson, as well as the writers, cast, and crew, while the network also said it was grateful to the fans who watched the show since it premiered in 2015.
