The "God is a woman" crooner mentioned her ex-boyfriend, who used to be a dancer on her tour, with the line, "Wrote some songs about Ricky/ Now I listen and laugh". In the song, she opened up about her high-profile relationships including with Big Sean and Ricky Alvarez who she revealed actually heard the song before it dropped.

"Even nearly got married, and for Pete I'm so thankful".

Ariana also insisted she is going to focus on herself after her most recent break-up. Her first single since calling off her engagement to Pete Davidson, Grande takes a healthy approach to ending a relationship by thanking every one of her exes for the learning experience.
