Ramos refuses to hit back after Lovren calls him overrated

Sergio Ramos returns to Real Madrid with groin problem

Dejan Lovren has taken his grudge with Sergio Ramos to a new level by mocking and insulting the defender after Croatia beat Spain on Thursday night.

Lovren went on to say: "Go ahead and talk now buddy".

The bad blood between the pair has bubbled since Real Madrid's Champions League final win over Liverpool in May, when Ramos controversially clashed with Reds star Mohamed Salah, forcing him off injured. "Buddy! They are a bunch of pussies", he added in reference to Ramos and his Spain team mates.

Croatia needed a stoppage-time victor to beat Spain in their Uefa Nations League game on Thursday night and Lovren is likely still celebrating the win.

The Croatia appeared on Instagram Live immediately after the win and said, "Ha ha!"

He then covered the Spain flag stitched onto his shirt and said "only this side is worthy", pointing to the Croatian flag. "Now to beat England and walk out like a boss!"

Jones runs the Packers' show in win over Miami
The Packers' success continued whenever Jones was in the game, although he did have two false start penalties called against him. It's little consolation that the losses have come against two of the league's best teams, the Rams and Patriots.

Lovren may even have been attempting to twist the knife further by posing with Ramos' Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric. "Ronaldo, a couple of seasons ago, when you do a mistake, but you win 5-1, 5-2, nobody sees the mistake".

Lovren recently slammed Real's skipper in an interview with Copa90 where he claimed that Ramos' mistakes get painted over by the fact that Los Blancos score so many goals at the other end.

Ahead of facing Croatia, Ramos said he would not bite back at Lovren during his pre-match press conference - right before taking a thinly veiled dig at him losing both the Champions League final and World Cup final within a matter of months.

"I've said it many times. Let each one win things on the field".

The win makes Croatia's upcoming meeting with England all the more crucial as a win at Wembley could see Lovren's team finish top of Group 4 and could also relegate England.
