Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospitalized With Fractured Ribs After Fall

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hospitalized Thursday after breaking ribs in a fall at the high court. After "experiencing discomfort overnight", she went to a hospital on Thursday morning. She has also reportedly hired law clerks through 2020, sending the message that she plans on sticking around.

In 2012, Ginsburg disclosed to a reporter that she had recently broken two ribs in a fall but did not take time off because of the court's heavy workload at the time.

Ginsburg was admitted to the hospital for treatment and observation after tests showed she fractured three ribs.

Ginsburg has survived a series of health scares.

Prince Charles at 70: I won't be a meddling monarch
Sitting where I was, you couldn't hear what he said. "But afterwards watching it on the television, I think it was a lovely gesture".

It's too early for any word on Justice Ginsburg's path to recovery just yet - but definitely makes ya think.

Ginsburg's heath has been the subject of public concern as the court's oldest justice is one of four liberals on the bench.

Some of her legal opinions, coupled with her refusal to step down during the Obama era, have seen her gain popularity in some quarters and earned her the nickname Notorious RBG.

Since taking office, President Donald Trump has appointed two conservative justices to the court, shifting it to the right. President Trump and new acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker were expected to attend.
