One group dressed like a border wall, the other like Mexican stereotypes.

A group of elementary school teachers from Middleton School District in Middleton, Idaho, dressed up as Mexicans and President Donald Trump's U.S. -Mexico border wall for Halloween.

The photos of staff members from Middleton Heights Elementary School in Middleton, Idaho, were quickly met with outrage from the local Hispanic community and beyond. He continued, "We already have district administration looking into the matter first thing this morning ..." Superintendent Josh Middleton issued an apology ... sort of.

The photos are now circulating across Facebook and Twitter with parents and Treasure Valley residents. The photos were later removed, though not before some had captured screenshots.

"We are better than this", he said in the video.

The pictures showed one group of teachers, who appear to be white, wearing ponchos, sombreros and fake mustaches.

Said McKinnon's Ingraham of Trump's plans to defend the US border: "Of course the liberal media's trying to label President Trump a racist".

"I was shown those photos and [was] deeply troubled by the decision by our staff members to wear those costumes that are clearly insensitive and inappropriate", he says in the video.

There was probably no malicious intent, he said, just poor judgment - adding that the district will be conducting an investigation. "Again, we are better than this".

Proving that even Halloween isn't immune from the political division our country is now embroiled in, an Idaho school district has issued an apology after it faced stiff backlash to pictures of staffers in pro-Trump, anti-Immigrant costumes for the holiday. "As a mother to a minority child, I would be mortified if this were my child's teacher".

"The fact that these elementary school teachers thought this would be OK demonstrates how much more cultural competence training is needed in education", Kevin Nadal, a psychology professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, wrote on Twitter. "They should be fired", a parent told the station. According to U.S. Census Bureau data, almost 10 percent of Middleton's population are Hispanic, and the school district offers a migrant education program.

Middleton, Idaho, is about 20 miles northwest of Boise, with a population of 7,400.
