SpaceX не планирует обновлять вторую ступень Falcon-9

Another SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket shot through the skies, through the atmosphere, and into the vastness of space, this past Thursday afternoon, from Florida's Space Coast, carrying the Japanese engineered Es'hail 2. The rocket reusability is a breakthrough needed to reduce the cost of access to space and enable people to live on other planets, according to SpaceX.

The Es'hail-2 spacecraft was built by Mitsubishi Electric Corp. and will be operated by Qatar-based company Es'hailSat. In an increasingly routine feat, the booster's first stage fell away and flew itself back to a pinpoint touchdown on an off-shore drone ship, the company's 31st successful recovery.

Qatar's earlier Es'hail-1 satellite was deployed in August 2013 in partnership with Eutelsat, a French telecommunications operator.

Es'hail-2 "features multi-transponder Ka-band capacity, providing business and government sectors with secure communications across the Middle East and North Africa region", SpaceX representatives wrote in a mission press kit.

Duke flexes its muscle against Eastern Michigan
Reddish said that putting the Kentucky win in the past and moving on was "definitely tough" but that "we can't dwell on any win. Top-ranked Duke threw down 14 dunks in Wednesday's 84-46 victory over Eastern Michigan in Durham, a highlight reel effort.

The rocket and its payload hit a succession of milestones within minutes of takeoff, including first and second stage separation, as well as the release of the payload fairings. If all goes well, the Es'hail 2 will enter service at the end of January.

Thursday's launch was powered by a previously used rocket booster.

SpaceX is set to launch its 18th mission this year at 3:46 p.m. today from Kennedy Space Center's launchpad 39A, the iconic site used by NASA's historic Apollo missions that sent humans to the moon. And 9 in the title refers to the number of engines in the rocket. The company already has recovered rocket boosters several times, both on land and on drone ships at sea.

After the Amos-6 loss during its preflight static fire due to the presence of payloads on it has alerted SpaceX to carry out the entire launching test carefully keeping in mind the time limitations and the customer requirements.
