'Taylor's Actions Disgraceful': Sarfraz Lashes Out at New Zealand Batsman

Sarfraz Ahmed, the Pakistan captain, has lashed out at Ross Taylor after the New Zealand batsman appeared to publicly question the legality of Mohammad Hafeez's bowling action during the first ODI in Abu Dhabi.

Absent for the Black Caps' 3-0 Twenty20 series defeat, Boult's stunning opening spell inspired their 12th successive ODI victory over Pakistan stretching back to their last tour in 2014.

He eventually received a clean chit from the ICC in April 2018 and now, after a late call-up to Pakistan's squad for their ongoing home season, he has bowled 19 overs in one Test and six T20Is against Australia and New Zealand, without drawing any attention to his remodelled action before this.

It's fair to say Boult's trifecta was the best of the lot.

It all started in the second ball of the third over when Boult knocked over Fakhar with an incoming delivery. Kiwis premier fast bowler Trent Boult was able to scalp a hat trick. Boult followed it up with another inswinging delivery that trapped Hafeez right in front of the stumps.

"Just make him play, I guess".

"I think the new ball is a key part of the game and we know what early wickets can do to chasing totals".

Veteran batsman Ross Taylor top-scored with 80 while wicketkeeper Tom Latham struck 68 off 64 balls to lead New Zealand to 266-9 after they won the toss and batted at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

"I wasn't expecting to come on tour but it's an opportunity and there could be the possibility of Super Rugby next year to get to that World Cup", he said.

Taylor and Latham steadied the ship by rotating the strike and putting the bad balls away.

Shadab broke the century stand by having Latham and Henry Nicholls lbw off consecutive balls and one ball later Colin de Grandhomme was caught in the slip.

But tailenders Ish Sodhi (24) and Tim Southee (20) added 42 precious runs for the eighth wicket to give New Zealand a more competitive total, as Shaheen finished with 4-46 in his nine overs.

It was a sign of what was to come.

Pakistan: Sarfraz Ahmed (capt), Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Haris Sohail, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Junaid Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Usman Khan Shinwari.

It looked all over when legspinner Ish Sodhi snared Shadab Khan caught behind to a poor call from umpire Joel Wilson.

Pakistan had no reviews left, so Shadab had to go, and it was left to the pair of Sarfraz Ahmed and Imad Wasim to rescue the hosts from 85-6.
