Top 25 Teams In Third College Football Playoff Rankings

If the Washington State football team is going to move into the top four of the College Football Playoff rankings, it had better start praying for a pile of upsets over the last few weeks of the season.

The 10 teams at the top of the rankings are in the same positions they occupied on November 6.

No. 5 Georgia and No. 6 Oklahoma are the first two teams on the outside looking in.

Ahead of Ohio State are one-loss teams West Virginia (9), Washington State (8), Oklahoma (6), Georgia (5), and MI (4), but also ahead of the Buckeyes is a two-loss LSU (7) team that struggled to get by two-win Arkansas.

Cokanasiga handed England debut as Jones makes 11 changes for Japan
Chris Ashton , a try-scorer on Saturday against the All Blacks , moves from right to left wing to accommodate Cokanasiga. Richard Wigglesworth is set for a first appearance of the autumn from the bench.

In Tuesday's ranking, the top four remained Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and MI, followed by Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, Washington State, West Virginia and Ohio State to round out the top 10.

The lack of changes at the top of the rankings are a product of the relative lack of drama Week 11 produced. No team has made it to the CFP when ranked outside the top 10 this late in the season. Kentucky (only) fell six spots to No. 17 after losing at Tennessee. Herbstreit said Michigan's playoff chances will all come down to the Ohio State game.

When Syracuse visits Notre Dame on Saturday, the talk won't be about winning a conference championship. The night slate features a couple of intriguing games, including Cincinnati at UCF, Arizona at Washington State, San Diego State-Fresno State and Iowa State at Texas. Mississippi State 22. Northwestern 23.
