He further said that in the promo, the film star not only appears wearing the Kirpan but also the poster shows the star in a lighter mood thereby further showing the Sikh article of faith in a lighter vein.

BJP MLA from Delhi, Manjinder S Sirsa, has filed a police complaint demanding action against the makers of Zero for allegedly hurting the sentiments of Sikhs. The complaint says that Shah Rukh Khan is wearing Gatra Kirpan, and an article of Sikh faith that can be worn only and only by a Sikh who is fully devoted.

The reveal of a mobile game rather than a full-on Diablo 4 led to a " huge backlash " at what is traditionally a two-day celebration of all things Blizzard.

Sirsa has written in his complaint, "I have received a number of complaints from the Sikh Sangat for hurting the sentiments of the Sikhs by movie ZERO directed by Aanand L Rai".

The issue was raised on SRK wearing "Gatra Kirpan" as ordinary dagger which hurts the sentiments of Sikh community. A statement by the film's PR agency, Spice, said, "We are writing on behalf of the makers of the Film, Zero". "Your concern is duly noted and we wish to respectfully clarify that the film does not depict a Kirpan".

He further said that the community can not tolerate that any film star or the film itself shows the Sikh tenants or articles of faith in a bad light. The film has been helmed by Anand L Rai and is slated to hit the silver screen on December 21 this year. Zero is a romantic drama which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.
