Already? Man City icon Yaya Toure cut loose by Olympiakos

Toure spent the 2005-06 season with Olympiacos before joining Barcelona, winning a league and cup double.

It was his first spell with the Greek side where Toure managed to make a name for himself and eventually earn himself a transfer to Ligue 1 side Monaco. Olympiacos would like to thank him for everything he has offered to the club.

A Champions League victor with Barcelona in 2009, Toure only started three games since returning to Greece as a free agent in September. However, he has now left the club after just three months.

The Greek outfit are now third in the league and say they have "mutually agreed" to end Toure's contract with the club. Quite where this leaves Toure is unclear.

He then joined Barcelona in 2007, before moving on to Manchester City in 2010, where he became a fan favourite during a highly-successful eight year spell. The recent performances at Olympiacos suggest he may have neither the motivation nor the application to sustain such a high profile swan song.

Toure joined Olympiakos in September, following his Manchester City exit in the summer.
