Comey testified last week before the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees behind closed doors.

Outgoing House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte said Sunday it was "truly stunning" to hear former FBI Director James Comey claim he doesn't know or "can't recall" answers to almost 250 questions about the Trump-Russia probe and the Clinton email investigation.

In a tweet, Jordan brought attention to the number of times Comey told lawmakers "I don't know", "I don't remember", or "I don't recall" in response to their questions. Opened investigations on 4 Americans (not 2).

Trump claimed in a second tweet that the former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief "must have set a record for who lied the most to Congress in one day". "They are now exposed!"

I got 44 because it was hanging in my locker. "From Jake Lamb to David Peralta, Robbie Ray, Nick Ahmed, I think we have a number of players".

However, Goodlatte said he does not want his shock to be registered as an assertion that Comey lied during his six-hour, closed-door testimony.

Many found it preposterous that Comey, who was privy to all information in the investigation before being fired by President Donald Trump, could not recall key details of the investigation. Trump said on Twitter on Sunday.

An FBI attorney present at the interview told Comey not to answer certain questions about the Russian Federation investigation, including about the sources used by Trump dossier author Christopher Steele, arguing that the sources for the document are still relevant to the special counsel investigation.

In his testimony, Comey revealed that the investigation into presumed Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election was initially focused on four USA citizens.
