Man finds a $10,000 surprise inside designer bag on subway

A subway rider pulled off a Christmas miracle for a Manhattan fashionista last week, when he found and returned her cash-stuffed Chanel bag.

Richard Taverna was waiting for his train home to the Upper West Side of Manhattan when he noticed a blue Chanel purse on the platform at West 66th Street and Broadway around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the West Side Rag online blog.

"I picked it up just to see if there was, maybe, some kind of information, identification, inside that I might be able to get in touch with the person", he said. When he could not find an agent at the station, Taverna took the bag home before searching through it some more.

"I don't really think I did anything that extraordinary", Taverna said.

Warrington plans to go Stateside after Frampton upset
Once again, though, Frampton soaked up the pressure - although the sustained assault left him with a small cut under his left eye. While Warrington, like Frampton, signalled that victory tonight could lead to blockbuster unification bouts in 2019.

One hundred $100 notes filled the packet. But first, he laid out the bills on a table and snapped a photo. Police would prefer not dropping off $10,000 at your local station, though.

"Somebody lost $10,000, so obviously they're probably going through a lot of duress", Taverna said about the selfless deed.

"Well, it's not mine", he told WABC, explaining that he took the bag and its contents to the New York Police Department's 20th Precinct.

The woman, who has not been named, was on her way to Russian Federation when she lost the bag and had gone to the police station to report it missing at just about the same time that Taverna found it in the subway.
