KGF box office collection Day 3: The Yash starrer outshines SRK’s Zero

The film performed really well on the box office on its opening day. The film is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the production banner of Hombale Films. The action thriller has earned rave reviews and praise from audience.

On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan's Zero, a relatively bigger release (4380 screens) in comparison to KGF (1800 screens), was only able to rake in Rs 40 crore (approx) on its second day, according to reports.

The film amassed Rs 2.10 cr on its opening day and has witnessed an upward trend on Day 2. "Biz on Day 2 and Day 3 is pivotal". Growth on Day 2 [vis-à-vis Day 1]: 42.86%. Ramesh Bala observer of south Indian film trade, tweeted, "Saturday 4:30 PM PST US BO (Dec 22nd): #KGF leads other South releases by a mile". Set in the 1970s, the story of the film revolves around a young man named Rocky (Yash), who is born on a special day and has a desire to rule the gold mines of Mumbai city.
