Kyler Murray wins Davey O'Brien Award

This year's Heisman Trophy ceremony will be aired on ESPN at 7 p.m. CT from the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

Murray and Tagovailoa will then face each other in the College Football Playoff, when No. 1 Alabama plays No. 4 Oklahoma at the Orange Bowl semifinal on December 29.

Named the AP Player of the Year earlier Thursday, Murray leads the nation in total yards (school-record 4,945), points responsible for (306), passing efficiency rating (205.7; FBS record is 198.9), yards per pass attempt (11.9; FBS record is 11.1) and yards per completion (16.8, tied).

Hart was tapped the host the Oscars earlier this week, amid reports that the job had become increasingly hard to fill. On the 4th of December, Tuesday, the 39-year-old comedian said he would be at the helm of the Oscars next year.

Murray is the fourth OU quarterback to win the Davey O'Brien Award.

The A's selected Murray with the No. 9 overall pick in the amateur draft last June. Through 13 games, the sophomore has completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 3,353 yards and a school-record 37 touchdowns.

Last season, the outfielder hit.296 with 47 RBI and 10 home runs in 51 games with the Sooners. He also has rushed for 892 yards and 11 TDs. Murray and Tagovailoa will face each other in the College Football Playoff, when No. 1 Alabama plays No. 4 Oklahoma at the Orange Bowl semifinal on December 29.

Murray started his career at Texas A&M, where his father, Kevin Murray, set season and career passing records as the Aggies' quarterback in the mid-1980s. As a result, Murray is the fifth Sooner to take home the award, joining Sam Bradford (2008), White (2003, '04) and running back Billy Sims (1978). "All the hard work with my teammates has really paid off".
