It was certainly a North London Derby that was already living up to its astronomical expectations even before Spurs star Eric Dier cancelled out deadly Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's opener.

The Arsenal coach - experiencing his first taste of the North London derby - made two game-changing half-time substitutions and his side went on to win the match in emphatic fashion.

Aubameyang equalised with a terrific shot from the edge of the box before two goals in three minutes from Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira sealed all three points for Arsenal.

It took a lot of courage to make two bold substitutions at half-time, but Emery didn't doubt himself.

And Pochettino believes the difference in preparations played a key factor, telling beIN SPORTS: "We were arriving in a hard moment for us after two big games to arrive for a bigger game".

"We know it will be very hard in Manchester, because of their history and their present, we are going to prepare in the best way possible, to have the best performance against them".

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hits out at 'bulls***' criticism
The worst tackle of the game came through Marco Verratti on Joe Gomez but the midfielder was lucky to escape with just a caution. "In Paris, I was not happy with the start.

He told Sky Sports: "A very competitive game, tough for us because we were talking before that the fixture, after Chelsea and then Inter Milan, it didn't help with the fixture for us".

"The opponent was so fresh because eight or nine players didn't play Thursday. It is not an excuse but when you concede 3-2 in the second half, you need energy to come back".

Arsenal's crucial third goal came as a result of Juan Foyth being robbed of possession by Aaron Ramsey, but Pochettino was keen to deflect blame away from the young defender.

"I am a little bit disappointed with all the things that happen sometimes in football".

"When you are young and you play this type of game, always it is hard, but I think he was very good". I am not going to put the focus on him.
