New York Jets wide receivers Quincy Enunwa (ankle) and Jermaine Kearse (Achilles) have been ruled out for Week 17 against the Patriots.

Though Enunwa will miss the final three games of the season, including Sunday's season finale in New England (1:00 p.m. ET, CBS), 2018 was a year of personal triumph.

As a side note, it's worth mentioning that firing Mike Maccagnan looks even less likely now that it did before, as ownership would be unlikely to have a GM handing out new contracts just a week before letting him go.

Enunwa caught 38 passes for 449 yards and scored a touchdown in 11 games this season after missing the entire 2017 season because of a neck injury he suffered in training camp.

"I'm excited for the future and for some more big plays", he said.

But the Jets clearly believe in Enunwa to serve as one of QB Sam Darnold's reliable targets for next season and beyond.

Enunwa thinks that he can mold Darnold. We have so much talent around at every position. I've been here for so long, this is what I know, and this is what I've come to love. He was interrupted several times by jovial teammates. "You know, my brothers".

The former sixth-round pick in 2014 out of Nebraska has outplayed his draft status, even with injuries limiting him at times in his five National Football League seasons. "That's a team-voted award", he said. Other awards announced were the Dennis Byrd Most Inspirational (nose tackle Steve McLendon); Marty Lyons Community Service (centre Jonotthan Harrison); Kyle Clifton Good Guy (linebacker Avery Williamson) and Bill Hampton Award for the rookie who acts most like a pro (tight end Chris Herndon).
