While reactions from fans on social media were mixed, one user challenged Cannon to do an audit of his own tweets, to which the star replied, "Nope!" But as Twitter reminded Cannon, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, and Chelsea Handler have all been sufficiently checked in the past but that didn't stay his hand.

Nick tweeted while calling out Chelsea and Amy for using "f-g" in their tweets from 2010 and 2012.

"Interesting", Cannon, 38, tweeted on Friday evening alongside an old tweet of Handler's from 2010.

The father-of-three then shared a tweet by Sarah Silverman, which said: "I dont mean this in a hateful way but the new bachelorette's a f****t", as he commented: "And I f***ing love Wreck it Ralph!". "I'm bout to get knee deep in Helen Hunt #thesessions".

"While Cannon doesn't specifically defend Hart, his aim appears to be pointing out a double standard that exists when homophobic comments are made by a black man vs. a white woman, admitting that he himself has "been saying f**ked up s**t" since twitter started", insisting, "I don't play that politically correct bulls**t!"

Earlier this week, it was announced that comedian Kevin Hart would be hosting next year's Oscars.

Kevin Hart faced backlash for his old tweets that many considered to be anti-gay. "I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past".

"I chose to pass on the apology". This is not the first time this has come up. I am evolving and want to continue to do so.

The 91st annual Academy Awards are slated to air Sunday, Feb. 24.
