The teaser was released on Wednesday to mark Thalaivar's 68th birthday. Petta teaser ends on Rajinikanth's trademark pose - the way he wears his sunglasses in circular motion. After the chartbuster album, now the teaser of Petta looks very promising.

"Petta" has the dream cast of Rajinikanth, Simran, Trisha, Nawazuddin Siddique, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Malavika Nair, Megha Akash, Muniskanth, Naren with Sasikumar and Vijay Sethupathi. Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the prime antagonist in the film, which has music by Anirudh Ravichander, who is working with Rajinikanth and Subbaraj for the first time.

At the audio launch of "Petta", Thalaiva said that Karthik directed him like a hardcore Rajinikanth fan.
