CNN’s New York Office Evacuates Over Bomb Threat

"Due to the threat, the office has been evacuated", Stelter tweeted shortly after 10:30 p.m.

"There has been a bomb threat phoned into the CNN offices in NY", tweeted the official CNN public relations account. Employees have been evacuated and the NYPD is investigating.

The NYPD tweeted Thursday night that West 58th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue was closed due to "a police investigation".

Police have given the all-clear after a phoned in bomb threat forced the evacuation of CNN's offices in NY.

Police gather outside the Time Warner Center after an explosive device was sent to the CNN offices on 24 October 2018 in New York City.

"At 10:07pm a bomb threat was called into the Time Warner Center and the building was evacuated", the NYPD wrote on Twitter.

In October, CNN's NY headquarters was evacuated after a package containing a crude pipe bomb, which was addressed to ex-Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) chief John Brennan, was found. It is unclear whether the threat was directed at CNN or another location close by.

That package was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, who was a contributor to the network for a time.
