Ricard, a second-year player, was inactive for Sunday's game against Kansas City, the day after the tweets came to light.

After the game, Ricard addressed the media in the locker room.

A series of tweets revealed in screenshots Sunday morning show Ricard repeatedly referring to a black Twitter user as a "n****r" and labeling several other people and "kids today" using the homophobic slur, "f*****s".

'We expect he'll have something to say later today after the game'. Anderson, a veteran running back who used to play for the Denver Broncos, when the pair tried out last Monday.

The second-year undrafted rookie out of ME has played 10 games this season and is known by teammates and announcers as "Project Pat" because he plays both offense and defense.

Ricard said he had yet to address teammates about the situation. "I'm going to talk to them most likely next time we're in the building".

Earlier this week, actor and comedian Kevin Hart stepped down from duties hosting the Academy Awards after past homophobic tweets were published. He's made four tackles this season on the defensive line while playing 90 snaps on offence. "I tweet a lot, kind of don't remember what I tweeted. It's still inappropriate. I really am sincerely sorry that I did that".
