"With Remote Access, consumers will be able to easily access various programs, apps and cloud services installed on multiple connected devices directly through their TV screen", said Hyogun Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. If you are interested in using this feature with your PC then you might be happy to learn you will be able to connect a keyboard and mouse to the Samsung Smart TV for full control.

As well as allowing for easier connectivity, Samsung is hoping this leads to more services being accessed through its TVs. According to the company, the feature will let people work on documents, play games, surf the Web, and even stream content on their smart TV screens, all through a PC or laptop. The company previewed a new feature dubbed Remote Access this week, which integrates both Samsung's own Knox security framework as well as remote access software from VMWare. With that being said, Samsung didn't provide any insights into the kind of latency customers might expect or what kind of wireless router you'll need to have to enable Remote Access in the home.

The press release also claims a "web browser-based cloud office service" will be accessible via Remote Access-though no word on if this will be a Google or Microsoft affair, or some new Bixby-branded office suite.
