Saudi lobbyists ‘bought 500 nights at Trump’s hotel after 2016 polls’

According to a report in the Washington Post, the lobbyists for the Saudis spent around $270,000 at the Trump hotel in total, housing dozens of United States military veterans brought to the district to lobby Congress against a recently-passed law allowing victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks to sue other governments.

As reported in The Washington Post, a veterans advocacy group, D.C. lobbyist agency, and the Saudi Arabian government are all connected to the latest veteran scandal.

Saudi lobbyists moved business to US President Donald Trump's hotel in Washington DC within a month of his election in 2016, paying for an estimated 500 nights' stay at the luxury hotel in just three months, the media reported. The luxury rooms were to be used by United States military veterans as part of a free trip to Washington while lobbying Congress against the anti- Saudi bill.

In 2016, the NMLB Veterans Advocacy Group began inviting veterans to Washington D.C.to stay first in Northern Virginia, then in D.C.at the Trump Hotel, for free.

Bonus point win takes Edinburgh to top of European Champions Cup pool
Edinburgh extended that lead by turning the screw on the depleted Falcons scrum ten metres out in the left-hand corner. Edinburgh had a chance to square matters but Van Der Walt's penalty attempt rattled back of a post.

Veterans who participated in the trip told the Post they don't buy that explanation. Now they wonder whether they were used twice: not just to deliver someone else's message to Congress but also to deliver business to the Trump Organization.

One veteran mentioned that he found the entire lobby operation "puzzling". He went on three trips, and said that what made the Trump hotel trips different from trips with other veterans groups were the private rooms, open bars and free dinners.

Rooms costing as much as $768 a night were booked for the lobbyists.

Those bookings have fueled a pair of federal lawsuits alleging Trump violated the Constitution by taking improper payments from foreign governments.
