Steven Gerrard 'hugely frustrated' after Rangers draw with Dundee

Rangers were as short as 7/2 with some firms before a ball was kicked this weekend, while some were a bit more generous offering 11/2 about the blue side of Glasgow bagging the title, but following on from their draw this afternoon they are now as big as 8/1 to topple Celtic and it has left many wondering whether the title race is well and truly over.

"We didn't look like a Rangers team", Gerrard said of his side, which included six changes from the midweek defeat to Aberdeen.

But they fell behind to a Kenny Miller goal and, although Andy Halliday levelled after Nathan Ralph was sent off, Rangers could not find a victor.

The result sees Rangers move up to second in the table, two points behind leaders Celtic.

And Gerrard, who introduced Joe Worrall, Kyle Lafferty, Ryan Kent, Halliday, Jordan Rossiter and Eros Grezda to the side, bluntly stated: 'It won't happen again. People knock on the door. That's fine, that's football.

"But when you are given a chance, go and back it up, go and perform".

'I think it's pretty easy and straightforward for me now.

"It is a reality check today that we are not good enough to make six changes. Individually, we didn't look like Rangers players", he said.

'We kept making stupid decisions.

'It should make my job easier going forward because there should be fewer knocks at the door.

"Seven days ago, we got a fantastic result against Hearts and then, none of the players looked like the players that were with us seven days ago".

"You get a performance out of some players for one or two games, then they disappoint for one or two, then they pick back up". We never really carried out the game plan.

Miami Dolphins and a blustery day await the Patriots today
However, shocker, may not be a strong enough word to describe exactly how the Dolphins beat the Patriots on Sunday. Luckily, the Dolphins tweeted a clip in case you missed it or, like me, need to watch it 600 more times.

'The performances are out of character and individuals are putting in bad performances.

Let us know in the comments.

'Instead we did the exact opposite. "So, no surprises in terms of the result because our performance didn't deserve better".

'We were top of the league seven days ago.

The manager told RangersTV: "I am more surprised than frustrated and I am really shocked and surprised at what I am seeing".

"It's hugely frustrating because I did expect a reaction after we were so poor in midweek".

"Nobody is playing with character and personality at the moment, people are just making mistake after mistake and it is hard to watch".

Rangers now go in to a crucial Europa League meeting with Rapid Vienna in Austria knowing they must win to advance to the knockout stages.

In speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Gerrard was no less unforgiving.

He said: "I am very disappointed". He said: "Was everything all right?" and woooof - he was off! I was delighted. I thought the boys showed great resolve. And I'd have liked an answer.

'The gaffer has given a lot of lads their chance today and we haven't repaid him, ' he said.
