The Bulls is looking for their first win over the Orange since January 15, 1963.

Syracuse (7-4) suffered a crushing 68-62 home loss to Old Dominion on Saturday that knocked the Orange out of the national rankings for the second time this season.

Adding fuel is the fact that the Bulls have a score to settle. In addition, the Bulls outrebounded the Orange, 48-35, including 18 offensive rebounds. They vaulted into the AP Top 25 after a 99-94 overtime victory at West Virginia on November 9.

"No disrespect to (Syracuse) but I think we do have better players", Buffalo coach Nate Oats said in the postgame, "I told the team that".

"I don't want to call it a make-or-break week, because it's not going to break our season if we don't do what we've been doing. We did that a little bit in the second half but not to the extent I'd liked to".

Buffalo trailed the entire first half before rallying late. Barring injuries or a big-time slump, the Bulls are on a similar path.

Syracuse held a 53-51 lead before the Monarchs produced an 8-1 run, grabbing their largest lead of the game at the time, 59-45, and Syracuse was unable to erase the deficit. In the Dome, Syracuse is 3-2 against No. 14.

Syracuse (7-4), which will host Arkansas State at 2 p.m. Saturday in the same location, lost its second straight game and has dropped two of its three matchups against ranked opponents this season.

Senior guard CJ Massinburg put on an all-star performance, finishing with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to continue the program's strongest season start. That stood in stark contrast to a week before, a 72-71 thriller against Georgetown where C Marek Dolezaj drew a critical charge to set up the game-winning layup with ten seconds left.

Massinburg, who played with a wrapped right hand after suffering a jammed finger in practice Tuesday, had 14 points, including his 1,500th at Buffalo.

Syracuse: The Orange have been erratic all season.

Brissett was the ringleader in the Orange's victory over Buffalo past year, scoring 25 points and making all 16 free-throw attempts, including six down the stretch. The squads met previous year in the Carrier Dome. Buffalo is 41st and is forcing more turnovers per game than Syracuse. Over the last four years, Buffalo is the only non-Big 12 team to come into Morgantown and leave with a win over West Virginia while they have been ranked in the Top 25. 16 Ohio State in Columbus on November 28. The Buckeyes shot 32.6 percent.

"That's just confidence", Jordan said. "You have to be able to endure that and weather that".

The Bulls have been the better team in most aspects, particularly on offense. "But to outrebounded them by 13, and our defense the last 10 minutes of the game really locked them up".
