The exit polls have predicted a fractured mandate, with the ruling Congress being reduced to 8-12 MLAs in the 40-member assembly, whereas, the Mizo National Front winning 12-16 seats - well short of the majority mark. A party has to win 116 seats if it has to form a government in the State.

Rajasthan is an interesting state when it comes to predicting poll trends.

The Opposition meeting is likely to be attended by Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee, National Conference (NC) chief Farooq Abdullah, Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury and Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary S Sudhakar Reddy.

The Congress, on the other hand, is looking to topple the BJP government with top party leaders like Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia in the fray for the chief ministerial candidate.

Nationally, it could the Congress expand United Progressive Alliance and bring more parties in its fold against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. He has invited the leaders of all the non-BJP parties.
