Breaking: Active shooter situation at UPS facility in New Jersey

Police responded Monday to an "active shooter situation" at a UPS facility in Logan Township, New Jersey, the company said in a statement.

Both of the women worked for UPS, Fiore said.

A UPS spokesman had initially described the incident as an "active shooter situation".

The New Jersey State Police tweeted earlier: "Local and county authorities have responded to an incident in Logan Township, Gloucester County".

One of the hostages had a prior relationship with the suspect, the prosecutor said.

Officials say 32 employees were inside the facility, which has now been evacuated, according to CBS.

A modified lockdown, meaning no one can enter or leave the building, was ordered at three Logan Township schools following the reported active shooter. The students are safe, the district said in a note to parents.
