United and American airlines try to outdo each other on entertainment

"Our guests want to make the most of their time when flying us".

Starting Friday, the entire American Airlines domestic USA fleet will be equipped with Viasat satellite Wi-Fi, allowing Apple Music subscribers to access songs, playlists and music videos with reckless abandon.

You will be able to stream Apple Music on American Airlines domestic flights without purchasing Wi-Fi.

You won't have to pay for the Viasat Flight Pass, which in the past has cost us $16 (about £12, AU$22), though you'll still need to be a paid Apple Music subscriber. Apple music subscriptions are priced at $9.99 per month for an individual plan, $4.99 for a student plan and $14.99 a month for a family plan.

The service is set to be available starting on February 1st.

Pelicans Remove Anthony Davis From Team Intro Video, Twitter & Facebook Pages
The NBA called the statement "an intentional effort to undermine the contractual relationship between Davis and the Pelicans". Before Wednesday night's game vs the Nuggets, the Pelicans played a new intro video at the Smoothie King Center.

This Apple Music offer will work on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, Windows PCs and Android devices.

Apple loves music. With iPod and iTunes, Apple revolutionized the music experience by putting a thousand songs in your pocket. You could also read the announcement as possibly the first of more such announcements to come, since Apple goes on to point out that "American Airlines is the first commercial airline to provide exclusive access to Apple Music through complimentary inflight Wi-Fi".

Those slower iPhone sales haven't prevented Apple Music from reaching its own milestone, with 50 million users now fully paid up members of the music streaming service.

While Apple Music subscriber numbers have been growing at an impressive pace ever since the streaming service was launched back in the summer of 2015, the company that's relying on its Services business segment for a larger and larger chunk of its overall revenue is unlikely to be satisfied until it manages to surpass market leader Spotify.
