Cilic downs Tomic

Bernard Tomic has unloaded an unholy spray on Davis Cup captain Lleyton Hewitt following Tomic's first-round loss at the Australian Open.

Tomic was defeated 6-2 6-4 7-6 (7-3) by world No.7 Marin Cilic on Monday night on his return to the tournament, a year after losing in qualifying for his home grand slam.

In the deleted tweet, Kyrgios said that he and Kokkinakis had been "abandoned" by Hewitt during the Brisbane International in favour of fellow Australian player Alex De Minaur - Hewitt's doubles partner at the event.

"It's all Lleyton. I have got to say honestly no one likes him any more, he is doing the wrong thing, he is playing Davis Cup - I thought he was retired, he is playing all these matches", Tomic said in his press conference.

"I think we all know who those people are".

"And now there is Kokkinakis and Nick as well who aren't playing because they have issues with some people".

Kokkinakis missed out on a wildcard but qualified for the main draw.

"Now, I've been in spaces in development that have been around Bernie and I can promise you that myself, Pat Rafter, Lleyton Hewitt - who have all got a wealth of experience in this game, both as players and dealing with media and trying to help our next generation - have given him enormous amounts of our personal time".

"He used to hate Tennis Australia, it's weird. What's happened here?", he said.

'All these guys that got wildcards are under a system. Polmans, Bolty, Jordan Thompson.

Search for two-year-old boy who fell into well in Spain
Over 100 rescue workers in Spain have began a massive search operation after a two year old boy fell into a well in Malaga. . Rescue services have found heavy compacted sand layer so they are digging slowly, and they are thinking another alternatives.

'They're all under Lleyton's wing under the management company.

"It's a conflict of interest and I think that's awful".

"And then he's in Davis Cup and he's doing the wrong thing and everyone's leaving".

Tomic also took aim at at Hewitt for playing himself in Davis Cup doubles matches. Go away. Literally, if he is retired why is he still in tennis?

"I think Wally was a great captain, Wally Masur was an unbelievable Davis Cup captain and someone that everyone liked and don't worry Lleyton's legacy and his tennis speaks for itself he is an unbelievable captain but what he is doing now is wrong so hopefully he can get moved". "They're all under his wing so he gets a percentage of that", Tomic said.

Stephanie Brantz recaps all the big stories from the opening day in Melbourne.

"In a time where we should be celebrating Australian tennis in the country, we're talking about a guy who has bowed out in straight sets in the first round and we haven't really spoken about because this time previous year he was off doing reality TV".

Tomic rebuilt his world ranking after a sabbatical in 2018 - which included a stint on reality TV show 'I'm A Celebrity. But at the moment we don't see that product. "So that's going to be my goal", he said.

"Absolutely, Kokkinakis, Kyrgios, we don't want to play anymore because he's ruined it".
