Canadians injured in fatal Cuba bus crash

The Argentines were identified as two 35-year-old women, Roxana Lauseda Gómez and Nadis Carolina Flores. The injured were from the U.S., Britian, Canada, France, the Netherlands and Spain.

The driver told Radio Guantanamo he lost control on the wet and winding road.

The bus was travelling from Baracoa to the capital, Havana, when it crashed near Guantánamo on Thursday. Witnesses said he tried to overtake another vehicle.

Only the bus was carrying 40 people.

A Frenchman and a German woman were also among the four tourists killed in the accident, along with three Cubans, the Venceremos newspaper said.

The Cuban military runs the bus company, Viazul, which tourists frequently use to get around the island nation.
