Former Wales international Craig Bellamy has released a statement denying a claim of bullying

Bellamy denies the allegations "categorically" but said he will temporarily step down from his post as he battles to clear his name.

Cardiff City have not yet commented on the allegations or responded to Bellamy's denial of them.

Now an official complaint regarding the action reportedly has been made to Cardiff hierarchy by the same player's guardian and knowing the incident and huge uproar Bellamy has now chose to step down from the role to challenge his innocence.

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock confirmed this week an investigation into Bellamy's behaviour is ongoing.

And in response, Bellamy said today: "I am aware of allegations that have been made against me via the media".

Cardiff said on Wednesday it had started an investigation, led by chief executive Ken Choo.

Ultimately, the Sixers got the last laugh with a 119-113 win and the extra stuff becomes nothing more than a footnote. He surprised with a jump shot from just inside the three point line in the first quarter that missed. "I feel good.

"I categorically refute them".

The player in question has since left the club.

If found guilty the former Wales skipper could lose a huge number of fan bases in England while getting a huge fine along with prison sentence.

However, while he fights the accusations, Bellamy has stepped down from his coaching role.

The 39-year-old regularly appears on Sky Sports as a pundit and it will be interesting to see whether this allegation will affect his TV work, or if the former footballer will address the issue in upcoming appearances with the broadcaster.

Bellamy made 78 appearances for Wales during his career, and spent two spells at Cardiff City, first while on loan from Manchester City during the 2010/11, before finishing his career with the club during two seasons from 2012 to 2014.
