When a Florida Highway Patrol trooper pulled onto the hard shoulder to help a motorist, another vehicle came careening out of nowhere.

The moment a driver slammed into the back of a trooper's vehicle on I-75 was caught in terrifying dash cam footage.

In this crash in November, Trooper Richard Verbiest had stopped his SUV with emergency lights on to help a disabled motorist on the inside shoulder of southbound I-75 in Lee County.

The Trooper exited his substantially damaged FHP vehicle, responded to the 2012 Mazda and pulled the damaged driver door open to gain access to Espinoza.

The driver, identified as Fernando Xavier Espinoza of Fort Myers, was seriously injured and pulled from the vehicle.

The trooper managed to get out of his own vehicle to check on the driver.

The trooper dragged a seemingly limp Espinoza to safety on the highway.

Troopers are reminding drivers to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles when they are stopped on the side of the road.

The FHP released the video Wednesday as a reminder of the importance of moving over for first-responders that are stopped on the road. It's the law, it's common courtesy & most importantly, it's a life saver!' the highway patrol tweeted alongside the video.

Asian Cup: India have a point to prove against UAE
