Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas could be on the verge of a move to Arsenal, according to Diario Sport.

Navas is being heavily linked with a move away from the Spanish side after falling out of favour following the arrival of Thibaut Courtois.

Following a training session at Valdebebas which about 8000 fans attended, Navas took to Instagram to thank them for their support, which clearly seems to indicate that he has had enough and plans to leave Madrid now that the January window has opened.

While he would certainly be an upgrade on Bernd Leno, who looks more and more like the second coming of Loris Karius with every Arsenal defeat, but it would represent incredibly short term thinking from Arsenal if they were to cast him aside after just half a season.

The former Levante stopper has just 18 months left to run on his contract and is highly unlikely to sign an extension given his bit-part status at the club so Madrid are reportedly ready to cash-in before his value decreases further.

The unwanted defensive record has reportedly forced Emery into making bids for some wonderful defenders, including a goalkeeper.

The club spent £19.6m on German Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer and he had to bide his time to get the nod over Cech.

The Gunners have offered £14m ($18m) for Navas, in the hope that he can serve as a long-term replacement for veteran 'keeper Petr Cech.
