In a honest and kind opener, Golden Globes co-host Sandra Oh praised the groundbreaking movie, calling it "the first studio film with an Asian-American lead since Ghost in the Shell and Aloha".

The big joke propelling Samberg and Oh's monologue was that they were going to "roast" the Hollywood stars in attendance, but all of their so-called slams were actually compliments.

Acknowledging Crazy Rich Asians, which is nominated for Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, Oh quipped that it was "the first studio film with an Asian American lead since Ghost in the Shell and Aloha".

"I'm sorry!" Stone could heard shouting from the audience after Oh's dig on Sunday.

Sandra Oh just poked fun at Emma Stone's role in Aloha! The LA Times confirmed that Stone did in fact yell it.

The test will involve Cruise self-driving cars, which it has been testing in San Francisco for the past three years. Cruise was founded in 2013 by Kyle Vogt and Dan Kan.

"I've become the butt of many jokes", Stone said.

This is the first time either Samberg or Oh has hosted the Golden Globes, though Samberg did host the 2015 Emmys. "It's ignited a conversation that's very important".

It's a role that not only taught the Oscar victor an important lesson about Hollywood's embarrassing history of whitewashing, but it also earned her a slight roasting at the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday night (January 6).

"I've learned on a macro level about the insane history of whitewashing in Hollywood and how prevalent the problem truly is", Stone told News.com.au, while promoting Irrational Man. She added: "There are some flaws in the system".
