Giant 'Fatberg' Measuring 210 Feet Is Clogging Up British Sewer

A "fatberg", a mass of hardened fat, oil, and baby wipes, measuring some210 feet long, was found in the town of Sidmouth, England.

Andrew Roantree, South West Water's director of wastewater, says that it will take up to eight weeks for turd engineers to extract the fatberg manually, in an operation I would say rivals last year's miraculous Thai cave rescue in scale.

"Fatbergs" like this one have become unpleasantly familiar in the United Kingdom.

London unveiled a particularly epic fatberg in 2017. Eventually, that mass was converted to biofuel, but it took workers months to fully restore function in the affected area.

The 210-foot (64 meter) fatberg is part of a modern problem where old sewer systems get packed full of congealed lumps of cooking oil, diapers, wipes and grease. The issue has become serious enough that the government has proposed banning the wipes altogether.

Footage and still pictures provided by the company showed sewage workers in Sidmouth inspecting the fatberg, which has clogged up portions of a sewer drain.

The comments section on the post was soon flooded with well wishes and blessings from fans and celebs alike. Mil Gaya (2003) and Krrish film series (2006-2013) are some of his most notable work as a filmmaker.

A chunk of that blockage later went on display at the Museum of London.

One of the biggest fatbergs ever found, it will take around eight weeks to remove it.

South West Water urged local residents to "think sink" and "love your loo".

"Thankfully, it has been identified in good time with no risk to bathing waters". The consequences can be significant - including sewer flooding in your own home.

"Devon's largest fatberg has been discovered in Sidmouth", South West Water said on Twitter on Tuesday.

The removal is set to begin on Monday, February 4, but heavy rain could cause delays.
