The Indiana Pacers announced Thursday afternoon that their all-star guard suffered a ruptured quad tendon during Wednesday night's home game against the Toronto Raptors and that he will miss the remainder of the 2018-19 National Basketball Association season.

If Vic is out for the season, the Pacers have a decision they likely had not pondered. A ruptured quad tendon can be a serious problem for a high-flying athlete like Oladipo who likes to get above the rim.

McMillan said he does not know when the surgery will take place or whether Oladipo will be ready for the start of next season.

Even without their leader, IN managed to end a five-game losing streak against the Raptors by holding on for a 110-106 victory. This is a tough blow for the team, as he was their best player. While Benner does not work with the Pacers or Oladipo, he says there's reason to believe that this tear and his repeated battles with knee soreness could be connected.

Two other ties will need a replay to find a victor as Brighton and West Brom played out a 0-0 draw, while QPR's visit to Portsmouth ended in a 1-1 draw.

With Oladipo out, Tyreke Evans will move into the starting lineup, rookie guard Aaron Holiday will return to the rotation, and two-way guard Edmond Sumner will be called up from the G League to provide backcourt depth. He lost his footing when Pascal Siakam was trying to defend him in the transition. Thursday's news only confirmed the Pacers' worst fears. Trainers quickly draped a towel over the leg and players from both teams surrounded Oladipo while he was down.

"There was no hate just because we got traded for one another", George said Thursday at practice, according to Maddie Lee of The Oklahoman. "It's unfortunate. He's a special player and a special person".

Oladipo has missed almost a dozen games this season dealing with an undisclosed right knee injury and also has missed time in years past with knee injuries. When George played for the Pacers, Oladipo was in college at in and the two would keep in contact and George would even make the trip to Assembly Hall in Bloomington to watch Oladipo and the Hoosiers.

"The season's not over", Collison said. The Pacers deserve the opportunity to do what they can to compete right now.
