Skillful Helicopter Pilot Dramatic Rescue in the Alps

Video footage captured the moment a helicopter landed on the steep mountainside to rescue an injured skier.

An incredible video of an injured skier's rescue in the French Alps is the only resume one helicopter pilot will likely ever need, with the footage showcasing the pro's awe-inspiring landing skills during the daring mission.

The chopper's blades come dangerously close to the mountainside, as it hovers inches from the stranded skier, so close that the aircraft's nose nearly appears to swallow the figure lying in the snow.

The man, named as Bruno, had become exhausted and suffered an agonising fall.

They called for help and a helicopter arrived, getting what looked to be just inches from the snow as the chopper blades spun above someone on the ground.

The pilot performed the manoeuvre twice - first so rescuers could attach a leg brace to the injured skier, and then to winch him to safety.

This is actually the third of three videos Derely shared on Facebook depicting the skillful slopeside evacuation. The injured skier was taken to Chamonix Hospital.
