"India is there, Russian Federation is there, Russian Federation used to be the Soviet Union, Afghanistan made it Russian Federation, because they went bankrupt fighting in Afghanistan", Trump said in response to questions over whether he planned to scale down U.S. military presence in the war-torn country.

He said that with a population of 210 million people, including 120m below the age of 35 years, Pakistan was a big market for foreign investors.

"Apart from this, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will give rise to economic and trade activities in Pakistan", he said, adding that there was a need to widen the trade between Turkey and Pakistan.

During the visit, Khan is expected to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries.
