Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul were today suspended pending an inquiry into their comments on women during a TV show.

He added that at this point their chances of making the squad for the New Zealand tour is also "bleak". This was the procedure the BCCI followed when its CEO Rahul Johri faced sexual harassment allegations last October.

"These are purely individual opinions. we definitely, as the Indian cricket team, do not support views like that and that has been communicated".

Pandya and Rahul will now be the subject of an enquiry as per the new BCCI constitution, where Rule 40 states: "The BCCI shall appoint an Ombudsman at the Annual General Meeting for the goal of providing an independent dispute resolution mechanism".

The Indian team management didn't announce a shortlist of players for the first ODI, as is now the norm, and opted to wait to hear from the BCCI on the two players' availability.

Kuldeep Yadav has already proved himself in Australia with a five-wicket haul in Sydney Test, while Yuzvendra Chahal, who is now at the sixth place in the ICC ODI rankings for bowlers, would like to cement his place in the side permanently by performing consistently.

X-ray pulse detected near event horizon as black hole devours star
The black hole was given the designation MAXI J1820+070, named for the instrument that first detected it, according to Phys.org . While fairly common in the universe (there is one dormant giant at the center of the Milky Way), black holes remain a mystery.

Virat KohlI: "We would have batted first as well but some of the players are inclined towards chasing".

India go into the game on the back of a 2-1 Test series win over their hosts - the first time they have won a contest in the longer format of the game in Australia. The decision to hand them suspensions came after Rai's CoA colleague Diana Edulji recommended suspension till further action against the two. Acting secretary Choudhary wanted the pair suspended "immediately".

"The BCCI did the right thing, and this is also the way forward". However, captain Virat Kohli is not too bothered as he believes Ravindra Jadeja can be slotted into the team as the all-rounder in place of Pandya.

As per the new BCCI constitution, the power to sanction players for indiscipline or misconduct is to rest with the BCCI's Apex Council.

While Rahul did not make comments as seemingly crude, he found himself caught up in the backlash on social media and is left to explain himself to the BCCI.

The weather had played a spoiled sport in the final Test at the same venue last week, but that isn't likely to be the case for the Saturday's game. "Considering that the BCCI at present does not have an Ombudsman, the COA, in our view, will be justified in and entitled to appoint an ad hoc ombudsman with a defined specific mandate of adjudicating on the present matter".
