A 2017 patent from the company, first spotted by LetsGoDigital shows a device that will fold out to transform into a tablet PC.

The patent also shows that a stylus could be slipped into the folds of the gadget when origami-ed into its phone mode. The mechanism of the addition of unusual and contains as folding inside, and folding out the elements.

The timing of the release of the smartphone the company has not yet voiced. However, Intel plans to launch on the emerging folding smartphone market with a surprising concept of a foldable phone.

Essentially, the device will stretch a single screen across three panels that fold into one another.

There are many images in the patent application but little in the way of technical descriptive text.

With the developments in the field, we are nearly at the cusp of foldable devices which would be a dominant technology in 2019.

Foldable devices are the next big thing in the technology industry, and after several companies expressed their intentions to invest in this category, patents show that the number of manufacturers potentially looking at similar products is much bigger.

One of the design problems with tablets that fold into phones and vice versa is one of size. In other words, the device consists of three display parts, to create an extra-large tablet.

We now know that not only has Intel been working on devices with multiple displays, but with screens that bend and fold along with the device's hinges. Handy when you want to discuss a presentation, or watch a video, but also, for example, to use the device as an alarm clock.

The foldable Intel smartphone is also equipped with a stylus pen. For the time being, you do not have to expect such products in any case.
