Jones Sees Eventual Trilogy Bout with Gustafsson

Brock Lesnar finally emerges

Brock Lesnar finally emerges

But not when your name is Brock Lesnar.

In the main event at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., Jon Jones returned to his dominance of the UFC light heavyweight division, mauling Alexander Gustafsson en route to a third-round TKO stoppage.

Cormier now has WWE's Universal Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar on the mind. This time he kept his focus on a possible trilogy with the current heavyweight champ. Same crown same reign new faces more pain. I've been around him enough throughout my fight career, Jon's always been cool with me. But that idea may have been postponed due to Lesnar agreeing to a new deal with the pro wrestling giant back in October. This is surely music to the ears of former champ Miocic, who has been vocal about his displeasure with being overlooked as Cormier courted the Lesnar payday fight. I think I've been pretty respectful so far, Jon.

Lesnar's in an envious position in the Cormier-Jones saga.

"They could've done (a hearing) on Friday (of fight week)", White said after UFC 232.

'I have willingly submitted to every USADA test in the lead up to this fight and USADA has confirmed what I've been saying all along, that I'm a clean athlete.

Cristiano Ronaldo: I'm not obsessed with individual prizes
The playmaker was on top of his for the Galaticos and Croatia Blazers at the summer World Cup in Russian Federation . Ronaldo now leads the Serie A scoring charts with 14 goals in 18 starts in his debut campaign.

"The Beast" understands that the UFC is in need of talent that crosses over into the mainstream.

"[Lesnar is] not out of the picture", White said. "He's going to keep me on my game and I'm going to keep him continuing to strive to get better". So it makes sense.

'Nobody knows what's in place in terms of drug testing between Brock Lesnar and I. These are just general assumptions as to what is Brock Lesnar truly going through right now to try to be eligible to compete.

'As of right now with the Lesnar thing, that's kinda still up in the air, ' Cormier told MMA Fighting.

"Yeah, of course. The heavyweight division is also an alternative".

Still it's tough to imagine a scenario where Gustafsson doesn't work his way back up the ladder into title contention considering his only losses in recent years have come to Jones, former champion Daniel Cormier and former top contender Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, who is now retired.
