Sheffield United, third in the Championship and vying for automatic promotion to the Premier League, could not find a way back into the game as Chris Wilder's men suffered a humbling defeat at the hands of the non league side, 15th in the National League.

Oldham produced arguably the biggest shock of the round as they beat Fulham at Craven Cottage, while Newport dumped out Leicester City in dramatic fashion. Jamille Matt's header put Newport ahead but Leicester's Rachid Ghezzal equalised eight minutes from time.

Denis Odoi's 52nd minute strike had the Cottagers on course for victory, but Sam Surridge (76') levelled matters from the penalty spot before Callum Lang headed home a dramatic victor for the visitors in the 88th minute.

Former Tottenham Hotspur trainee Shaquile Coulthirst secured victory for caretaker manager Darren Currie's side with a 21st-minute penalty after being brought down in the box.

Elsewhere, League One Doncaster enjoyed a superb 3-1 away win at Championship side Preston.

Watford booked their spot in the fourth round after crusing to a 2-0 win over Woking.

However, Jake Bidwell scored the victor with 15 minutes to go to knock the Championship league leaders out.

City scored early through Raheem Sterling but had to wait until shortly before halftime to add to their total with Phil Foden scoring his first home goal for the club and Semi Ajayi turning Kyle Walker's cross into his own net.
