Mercedes-AMG A45 power outputs leaked

The new Mercedes-AMG A45 will have a Ford Focus RS-like drift mode

The new Mercedes-AMG A45 will have a Ford Focus RS-like drift mode

The AMG A45 S could potentially be revealed at the Geneva Auto Show in March, as Mercedes-Benz has made a decision to skip the upcoming Detroit auto show altogether. The official reveal might just be around the corner taking into account the model is already listed on the website of German insurance company HUK24. The nomenclature shown appears to back up rumors that the AMG-tuned A-Class will arrive in standard A45 and hotter A45 S variants. This lines up nicely with AMG boss Tobias Moers' statement that we will get over 400 ponies.

If the number is correct, then the four-pot is actually 21 PS (21 hp / 16 kW) more powerful than Audi's 2.5-liter turbo-five, used in the RS3 Sportback.

The small hatch will also make use of a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and Mercedes' latest version of its 4Matic four-wheel-drive system. Moers also told media previous year the A45 variants would come with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Pelosi says Democrats will give "nothing for the wall"
Pelosi has said that Democrats will pass legislation to reopen government but not provide funding for a wall. Democrats say they may be willing to talk later, but won't do that amid a shutdown.

Performance wise, the current Mercedes-AMG A45 has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), and a claimed 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint time of 4.2 seconds.

The new A45 S will actually pack more punch than the five-cylinder, 395-bhp RS3 / TT RS, but that still won't make it the most powerful four-cylinder vehicle ever sold. Both future A45 variants should be absolutely wild considering what the milder A35 accomplishes.
