Rafael Nadal of Spain talks to media as he announces his withdraw from the Paris Masters tennis tournament at the Bercy Arena in Paris, France, Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018.

Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the ATP Brisbane International after having not yet recovered from his thigh injury.

"It was not hard to keep going".

By contrast, he finished all five of the clay events he entered a year ago. "That's obvious", he said. But as I said, I don't want to make steps back, I want to make steps forward and for me the main thing is to do things the better way possible to stay healthy.

Nadal had earlier said his main priority is to take care of his body and that he wouldn't sacrifice his fitness to chase the world number one rank, which is now being held by Novak Djokovic.

The Australian Open in Melbourne runs from 14-27 January.

"I don't want setbacks".

Ephraim then took action and forced the man outside where the perpetrator unwisely attempted to attack the instructor. He added, "I asked how I could assist him and he stated that he was there for the lady".

"I showed myself that I can be playing very well without competing for a while".

"This is the second year that they (Brisbane fans) don't have the chance to watch me play here".

He had already been out of the sport for months trying to heal knee and ankle injuries, now a thigh has added to his list of concerns.

He said injuries, "just sometimes happen". There were signs in both matches that he is still bothered by the hip problem which has derailed his last two seasons.

But speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Costa said: 'You do not exactly know who will be in the top 10 in November.

Consequently, he'll keep his physical condition in mind more than he has before. "I can't do my 100 percent". In fact, After not playing the final for the 3rd place at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, he pulls out also from the Brisbane International where he was seeded no.1. I enjoyed it a lot. "I need to try and find a way of working out how to get around some of the things I struggle with a little bit now". So, yeah, tough year in terms of injuries.
