Lexington police shared posts on social media of burned truck. Officers jokingly mourning the loss

Two days after police officers in Lexington, Kentucky, mourned the loss of a Krispy Kreme doughnut truck , Krispy Kreme delivered fresh doughnuts to officers from the Lexington Police Department.

KSFY affiliate WKYT reports the truck caught fire Monday near Man O' War Boulevard and Pink Pigeon Parkway just after its driver had made a delivery in Morehead.

A Krispy Kreme truck fire earlier this week left no one injured, but the fire did destroy the truck - and more importantly, the doughnuts inside.

Russian building collapse death toll rises
The Monday pre-dawn disaster came after an explosion that officials say was likely caused by a gas leak. Wednesday has been declared a day of mourning in Chelyabinsk for those killed in the explosion.

And the New York Police Department said they were ready to help, saying they were sending backup donuts.

Krispy Kreme got in on the fun, too, offering condolences to the police officers and announcing that the company has "more doughnuts on the way". The posts spread across social media and were widely shared.

Soon enough, other police departments from around the USA responded to the incident, too. The chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme, Dave Skena, says the company wanted to comfort the department in their time of sorrow.
