The first was announced recently and will be hosted at the site of the original location, but has no involvement from Woodstock co-creator Michael Lang. Lang, however, told Rolling Stone the details about his 50th anniversary event, which will be located in nearby Watkins Glen, New York, and will be a three-day event from August 16-18. Meanwhile, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Live Nation and Invnt recently announced their own fest during the same days at the original concert's site - although they can't use the Woodstock name. The 1,000-acre green space where the festival will be held is near the Finger Lakes in upstate New York, NPR reports, and organizers expect most attendees will camp. But Lang tells Rolling Stone that he's already booked over 40 artists, including some big headliners. Lang also notes that some of the more contemporary acts will be celebrating the music of those that played the original Woodstock festival, such as Janis Joplin, The Band, Jefferson Airplane and Joe Cocker.

In a press release published today, the organizers say they hope to call back to the spirit that animated the iconic 1969 event - during another tumultuous epoch in American history.

Jets to hire Gase as head coach
According to ESPN's Jeff Darlington, Manning called Jets CEO Christopher Johnson to endorse Gase for the job. Additionally, Breer reports that quarterback Sam Darnold played a role in the Jets decision to hire Gase.

Dueling concerts will take place August 16 through 18, with both attempting to recapture the essence of the famed 1969 concert on its 50th anniversary. Such services might also help the 2019 festival distance itself from the dire problems that plagued a 1999 edition of Woodstock - an event that ended in fires, rioting and a number of lawsuits - which, like the chaotic 1994 Woodstock festival, Lang was also involved in organizing.
