Olivier claimed five for 51, his third five-wicket haul of the series, as South Africa gained a first innings lead of 77.

The rest of the team should remain unchanged unless the selectors decide to rest one or two players and their bowlers may be candidates to make way with Keshav Maharaj available to come in but given the changes in the batting order and the dominance their pace bowlers have over Pakistan, they may go unchanged there.

Elgar - leading South Africa in the absence of the suspended Faf du Plessis - and Bavuma had been guilty of a drop apiece in the morning, while wicketkeeper De Kock spilled two in addition to missing a stumping chance.

The hosts were 132-1 as Markram and Amla put together a 126-run partnership in an attacking start after stand-in skipper Dean Elgar had won the toss and elected to bat. "I worked on my batting and I saw the result of it".

It was Olivier's third five-wicket haul of the series and took his series tally to 21 wickets.

Markram, who had to pass a fitness test after suffering a badly bruised right thigh while fielding in the second Test in Cape Town, gave a sharp chance to short leg Shan Masood off Mohammad Amir when he had two, but otherwise looked in command on an easy-paced surface. There's quite a bit of swing at the Wanderers. It suggests there is a lot in the wicket for the bowlers, but despite some sideways movement and the usual bounce that comes with the Wanderers pitch, there has not been prodigious assistance.

From being in control on 226 for three at tea, South Africa were bowled out for 262. Sarfraz flashed a cover drive for four off the first ball he faced - one of his eight boundaries - and looked like he might inspire Pakistan to a precious first-innings lead.

Dead or Alive 6 Online Beta Live on PS4
At the beginning of this week, the official Dead or Alive 6 Twitter account teased some sort of trial for the fighting game. This beta test should give long-time Dead or Alive fans a chance to see how happy they might be with the way DoA6 feels.

A lead of 250 or more would likely prove challenging for the tourists to chase and South Africa are approaching that, thanks to an unbroken stand of 42 between Hashim Amla (42 not out) and Quinton de Kock (34no) that steadied another shaky innings and put the pressure back on Pakistan.

Amla made a patient 42 not out off 90 balls against tight, disciplined bowling.

The dismissal of Babar Azam (49 off 55 balls, 10 fours) in this fashion was a disaster for Pakistan as they lost their last five wickets for just 16 runs.

Sarfraz and Babar Azam played some thrilling strokes in putting on 78 off 61 balls for the sixth wicket but both were out within the space of five balls, to be followed immediately by Ashraf, who was out first ball to Olivier.

All 10 of their wickets fell to catches with all of them, apart from the two by Zubayr Hamza at short leg, being taken behind the stumps including one on the fine leg boundary by Kagiso Rabada. But he blamed "three bad shots, me, Babar and Faheem" for the collapse.

Sarfraz said the bowlers had also let their standards slip towards the end of the day when De Kock flourished.
