'The Quadrantids peak, on the other hand, is much shorter-only a few hours'.

At the peak, 60 to 100 meteors per hour may be seen streaking across the sky.

While most meteor showers have two-day peak, Quadrantids only peak for a few hours, so plan accordingly.

With a moon-free sky on January 3, the Quadrantid meteor shower has a good chance of high visibility against a dark sky in northern latitudes. The Quadrantids aren't known for producing fireballs, but could still generate some extremely bright meteors, he notes.

You can visit Time and Date for a better idea if you'll see it or not.

Singapore Science Centre advised stargazers to check the star map as the shower will appear near the constellations Bootes, Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.

Considering that nearly all new devices from Nokia are Android One certified, the Nokia 9 might carry Android One badging too. It will support Qi wireless charging and will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.

"The name Quadrantids comes from the constellation Quadrans Muralis (Mural Quadrant), created by the French astronomer Jerome Lalande in 1795", wrote Bruce McClure on EarthSky. "However, meteors will be visible in all areas of the sky, not just near the Big Dipper", Lada said. This particular asteroid is 2003 EH1, which takes 5.52 years to orbit the sun once.

This year's show doesn't have great timing for North American observations.

You'll be able to see them with the naked eye if you stand in a dark spot away from street lights. Find a place where you can see the entire night sky. Make sure you have a chair or blanket so you can look straight up.

Experts recommend dedicating at least 45 minutes to viewing the meteor shower - as eyes can require up to 30 minutes to adjust to the darkness.
